A HUGE Weekend

Well… This weekend has been long, fun and full of all sorts of things.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT
After work, I spent a bit of time with my friend Bryan as we worked together on the CPC 50th Celebration DVD (from the celebration night at Grace Church). Afterwards, I joined Sarah and Normandale for their Thanksgiving Eve worship service (followed by pumpkin pie eating – yum!)

THURSDAY
Today was Thanksgiving. In the early afternoon, Sarah, Riley and I headed over to the Grimsby’s for an early turkey dinner. We spent time together, hung some Christmas lights, ate great food and celebrated my birthday. It was a great evening which we were all thankful to share in.

Before the evening wrapped up, it was, of course, time to strategically plan our shopping adventure the next day. In preparation for the aptly named “Stuff Day”, I designed a logo which Sarah and I put on T-Shirts for the SD Crew (Jon, Erin, Stephen, Sarah and I).

We delved full throttle into the scads of flyers stuffed into the Thanksgiving Day paper (which came in it’s own plastic bag, because it was so full).

After we watched Survivor, we headed home to get as much sleep as we could before we got up at…

FRIDAY
…5am we met at Best Buy. Thankfully for Sarah and I, the Best Buy we met at was literally around the corner from our place. Even at that hour, the parking was overflowing… We had to park a fair amount away; almost far enough that it would have been closer to walk.

From Best Buy, we hit up the Target, Home Depot and Office Max near our house. Once again, there was nothing really necessary to get up early and fight the crowds for. It was purely about the adventure of it. We did, however, many great comments on our shirts. Also, I did also overhear someone say “I don’t really need another printer, but it’s such a great deal I can’t pass.”

Sarah and I spent the day together until we left in the evening to go celebrate the recent engagement of Jonathan and Erin and Erin’s parent’s place.

SATURDAY
Today was my 29th birthday. We spent the day getting ready for the evening’s party. We cleaned (which occurs at least once a month; only if we have guests), decorated the house with Christmas stuff and “trimmed the tree” (an artificial one since we can’t have live trees in our apartment).

In the evening, we had some friends over to our place for some yummy pasta and even yummier ice cream cake (hand made by Emilie). We also played a crazy card game called “Killer Bunnies“.

SUNDAY
Sunday was back to it’s regularily scheduled programming.Â

So, to summarize, I had an awesome weekend. Friends, family, food and fun. FFFF!
